Aron may not believe in writing documentation, but I do.
As a consultant, I often build complex automations for my clients. Writing down what an automation does and how it can break means they're not indefinitely reliant on me. And if we're being honest, it lets future me pick it back up if needed.
But writing this documentation is a real pain in the ass.
Like all tedious things, I thought, why not have AI do it for me? 😶
You've probably seen some examples of AI generating documentation, but one of the challenges with Zapier specifically is how to get AI to understand the automation so it can write the documentation for you.
I was messing around with Zapier one day when I came across a discovery that changed everything—and after some prompt tweaking, I got incredible results.
For this week's post, I share my process for generating a first draft of documentation for a Zap in less than 5 mins using a little-known quirk with Zapier's source code.
